Energy Performance Certificates

Get your building EPC-compliant

The 7 December 2025 compliance deadline has passed. Qualifying buildings in South Africa must now have, and display, a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Mega Unit is a SANEDI-registered EPC professional and can assess your building, prepare your certificate and show you how to improve your rating.

Who needs an EPC

Does my building need one?

The building energy performance regulations require an EPC for buildings above a set net floor area that fall into specific occupancy classes.

Public buildings

State-owned buildings with a net floor area of more than 1 000 m².

Private buildings

Privately owned buildings with a net floor area of more than 2 000 m².

How it works

Four simple steps

1. Request a quote

Tell us about your building: type, floor area and location.

2. Assessment

We collect 12 months of energy data and verify the floor area and occupancy on site.

3. Certificate

We prepare your EPC and submit it to the SANEDI national register.

4. Display & improve

Display your EPC at the main entrance and use our recommendations to improve your rating.
